Co-Founders

We are two teachers who went into education as eighteen-year-old bright eyed students who wanted to desperately make a difference in the lives of children. After many years of teaching thousands of kids in various settings, it was abundantly clear that we wanted to do more. No two children are exactly alike; we have taught students who need to be challenged and students who need additional support, however that challenge and support may look and feel different for each child. We believe that kids should always be seen, heard, respected, and receive the support they need to be strong, confident, and happy people.

There are so many ways to support children. When working with families over the years, two of the most common educational concerns have been literacy and the special education process.

We are passionate about fostering a lifelong love of reading and providing the tools and roadmaps needed to be a successful reader. Research has proven that children need to explicitly be taught how to read and that it is not a skill that just comes naturally. Multi-sensory approaches such as Orton-Gillingham and the Science of Reading have revolutionized how students learn to read.

We are devoted to families as they navigate the 504/ IEP processes. This can often be an overwhelming time full of uncertainty and confusion. We will listen, brainstorm, and help caretakers be the best advocate for their children.

As moms, we whole-heartedly understand the constant desire for caregivers to want to give their children the world. When our children are sick, we wish we had a magic wand to make them better again. When our children are in school, we hope that they are being loved and appreciated as much as they are at home. We hope that they are being given the tailored academic instruction that they need to reach their fullest potential. We want this for our own children and we are dedicated to always doing right by yours!

I have been an educator in New Jersey for over a decade with my Masters Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Rutgers University. I am trained in the Orton Gillingham Multisensory Reading Program which has completely transformed my perspective on how reading instruction needs to be executed, as well as the way that I now teach literacy skills to children. Having taught students in both general and special education across a variety of public, private and homeschool settings, Iā€™m passionate about meeting all of my students exactly where they are. Whether they need to be challenged or supported in a tailored and individualized manner, I am there to provide the learning experience they need to thrive.

I have been an educator in New Jersey and overseas for 20 years. I've also taught at The College of New Jersey in the undergraduate and graduate special education department. I hold degrees and certificates in general and special education and I am a reading specialist. I value the relationship between teacher and caregivers, am a fierce advocate for students, and strongly believe that every child should be respected and honored both in and out of the classroom.
